Returns and cancellations
Your rights under South African law, and how to send something back.
Changed your mind: seven-day cooling-off
Under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, you may cancel your order without giving a reason within seven days after you receive it.
- Because fragrance is a personal-care product, a bottle that has been opened or sprayed can't be resold. Please return change-of-mind items unopened, with the cellophane and seals intact.
- The only cost to you is the direct cost of sending the item back to us.
- We refund the full price you paid within 30 days of your cancellation, and usually within seven days of receiving the item back.
Faulty or wrong items
Under section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, every item carries an implied warranty of quality for six months from delivery. If a bottle leaks, the spray mechanism doesn't work, the product is damaged, or we sent the wrong item, tell us within six months of delivery. You choose whether we repair, replace or refund it, and we pay for the courier to return it.
A fragrance that doesn't suit you
Fragrance is personal, and a scent can wear differently on your skin than on a blotter. Once a bottle has been opened we can't accept it back for change of mind, so read the notes carefully and ask us if you're unsure. For our own blends, the Atelier Discovery Set lets you wear all six before choosing a bottle.
How to return something
- Email us with your order details, the item and the reason for the return.
- We reply with the return address and, for faulty items, a courier collection.
- Pack the item securely in its original box. We're responsible for the parcel only once it reaches us, so use a tracked service.
Please contact us before sending anything back so we can match the parcel to your order.
Refunds
We refund to the bank account or card you paid with. Card refunds can take a few extra business days to show, depending on your bank.
Nothing in this policy takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
